The limit values of TA Luft (Clean Air Guidelines) are clearly undercut by our oil mist separators with a degree of separation of 99.9% and a droplet size of 0.1 µm and contamination due to oil mist (e.g. on the decks of cruise ships and oil platforms) is reliably prevented. In the case of closed crankcase ventilation (CCV), contamination of the turbocharger and the downstream components is reliably prevented; this is a basic prerequisite for a permanent efficiency advantage of up to 0.7% points through CCV with gas engines.
UT99 - filter technology:
The remaining residual oil quantity of < 1 mg/m³ – also much lower on request – over the entire filter service life of up to 24,000 hrs is the result of constant research and expresses the high quality of our products. Our oil mist separators have a service life of at least 12 years and usually much longer, depending on the environmental conditions.
Our filters, which are made of a glass/silicate mix, have been used for crankcase ventilation since the year 2000. UT99 is the first filter manufacturer to use this technology for crankcase ventilation. The main advantages are the long-term stability and temperature stability as well as the chemical resistance. The chemical resistance is particularly important in biogas applications, since one of the most frequent by-products is sulphuric acid, which attacks many filter materials.
OEM / retrofitting:
UT99 is a preferential and leading OEM supplier of highly efficient oil mist separators for the crankcase ventilation of gas engines. We also have an oil mist separator series for retrofit/exchange for all Jenbacher gas engines. Further information can be found here.
UT99 AG checks every filter device under real conditions before delivery and supplies an automatically created test report. UT99’s textile technology department is dedicated to quality assurance and the further development of the filter materials. Only in this way are we able to supply the customer with a “safe” filter.
A multitude of alternative UPF filters and oil mist separators are currently offered for exchange in the free market. In recent months we have received increased feedback from customers having problems with these products. Further information can be found here.
Research & development / customer projects:
We have employed textile technologists and engine engineers for many years – customer projects and further developments are a fixed component of UT99.
Under the leadership of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), UT99 is a partner in the consortium that is chiefly researching into “crankcase ventilation and oil aerosol formation”. The consortium’s task in the next few years is to elaborate scientifically based principles for crankcase ventilation. The research results in combination with our many years of experience in the field flow permanently into the filter development and customer development orders.
